Edoardo Molinari and Francesco Molinari, the Italian brothers are taking the world by storm.

They teamed to win the Omega Misson Hills World Cup, which was held last autumn in China. And they both cracked the top 50 in the final world rankings of 2009 to quality together for the Masters and both earned spots into the World Golg Championship’s first two events of this year.

“We are very close,” Edoardo.

But while they’ll take great pride playing at the Masters together, they don’t actually want to play together. They would prefer separate pairings.

“We’re not used to being paired together,” Francesco said. “I think it’s a bit weird. When you are paired with your brother, you tend to watch too much what he’s doing. It’s not really good for your focus and concentration. It would be easier if we were not together.”

Edoardo, 29, and Francesco, 27, play practice rounds together all the time, including this week at Doral, but they’ve only been paired together once in a European Tour event. They played the first three rounds of the Dunhill Cup together last year.

The brothers have actually been to the Masters together before. Edoardo earned a spot in 2006 after he won the U.S. Amateur. Francesco caddied for him. They were paired with Tiger Woods the first two rounds.
